environment are persued, including a bi-weekly clean-up of Orangethorpe

Community Yard Sale:
We held another yard sale for Saturday, September 17, from 7:00
to 12:00 am at 1219 W. Baker (corner of Baker and Orchard). This time
the proceeds will be dedicated to the more traditional Lions charity:
vision care. We run two annual vision screenings in concert with
the Fullerton Community Health Fairs, and provide vision care and
financial assistance to those who can’t afford it. We also collect used
glasses (do you have any?) for processing and distribution by Lions
International.
Your contributions of electronics, furniture, household items and
clothes are appreciated. Please drop items off at above address. Call
Pete Baron at 714 525 2635 or on cell phone 714 225 2635 to ensure that
he is there to accept them, or if you need help with transporting
items.
NOTE: Thanks to the support of the Orangethorpe Elementary neighborhood
community, the two yard sales we had this past year netted enough
for the Lions to donate to Orangethorpe Elementary $900 for computer
program site licenses, and $1000 to help send a number of 6th
grade students (who otherwise couldn’t afford it) to a 3-day Science
Camp.
Putting Tournament
The fifth annual Lions Benefit Putting Tournament was held on
Saturday, October 15, at 3:30 pm at the Golfers’ Paradise, 1600
N. Harbor. This shotgun tournament is great fun on a lovely
course, with lots of opportunities to win prizes and trophies. Nayleen
Werner is coordinator of the event (714 871 3143). Details can be found in tournament flier (click here). Last year's event (08/12/10) was a great success with 42 golfers: Only
one hole in one by Eric Poli. Last year’s overall winner was Larry
Iboshi, and the net score winner Jim Guarin was determined after a
playoff round against Joe Klahorst ( SEE PICTURES of past events).
Silverado
Days is back with a vengeance: we will be running a Cotton Candy
